Our GUITAR BUILDING SCHOOL is family owned and operated business, located in the southern St. Louis, Missouri. The experienced instructor and the owner, Sasha Radicic, prefers to have smaller classes because he finds working with each student individually is extremely important to transfer his knowledge to everyone equally.
The school exposes students to a combination of the latest, contemporary tools and machines, on the one hand, and the historically proven, traditional philosophy of instrument making. This combination, along with the small groups and a close personal contact, creates a pleasant and stimulating work atmosphere. The entire school area temperature/humidity is adjusted for the trade.
Among other things, the students will be trained to work with new Swedish work-benches, with two traditional vises. The sawdust during the processing of wood is controlled by Sasha's OCTOPUS DUST COLLECTION SYSTEM, so that the whole area looks more like an office rather then like a workshop. In working conditions like these, it is a special pleasure both to make instruments and to teach students.

A one-year program (about 2000 hours) during which a candidate works 40 hours per week. Candidates learn the basics: cutting and shaping wood, gluing instrument parts and making templates, thinning tops, backs, sides and other instrument parts, bending wood manually or mechanically, etc. The candidates thus literally taken through all the stages of designing and building an instrument, both in the contemporary, machine-assisted way, and in the traditional, manual way. By the end of the program they will be able to fully assemble 3 or 4 instruments of their own.
Quality difference of training in this school is not only that Sasha teaches building guitars from scratch, but he also teaches how to build jigs and molds. Students have complete freedom to invent and create their own instruments.
